About

What We Cover

Nexamundo is an independent online publication dedicated to indoor vertical gardens with self-watering systems for small apartments. We focus on a specific intersection: how to grow plants vertically, with low maintenance, in spaces that weren’t designed for gardening — studio apartments, urban kitchens, narrow balconies, and rental units.

Our content is organized into three categories: Build Guides (step-by-step DIY tutorials and technical explanations of self-watering systems), Plant Selection & Care (which plants thrive in indoor vertical setups and how to keep them healthy), and Apartment & Small-Space Living (renter-friendly, no-damage solutions for tiny urban spaces).

Our Mission

We started Nexamundo because indoor gardening information online tends to fall into two camps: either generic advice that ignores how apartment life actually works, or premium-product marketing disguised as journalism. We try to do something different: practical, honest, hands-on guidance for people who want to grow food and plants at home without owning a backyard, spending hundreds of dollars on equipment, or dedicating hours each week to maintenance.

Every article is grounded in real-world testing and supported by external sources from agricultural research institutions, university extension programs, and government resources such as USDA, EPA, and NASA studies on controlled environment agriculture.

Who We Are

Nexamundo is edited by Lena Hartwell, who has spent the past decade documenting indoor gardening techniques in small urban apartments — starting in a 300-square-foot studio in New York and continuing through several moves across the East Coast. Her writing draws on hands-on experience with both DIY builds (PVC towers, mason jar hydroponics, recycled-bottle vertical gardens) and prebuilt smart garden systems.

Lena is not a credentialed horticulturist. She is a practitioner who has killed enough plants to know what works in tiny spaces and what doesn’t. Every article on Nexamundo is fact-checked against external sources before publication.

Editorial Standards

We follow a consistent editorial process for every article published on Nexamundo:

  • Each article cites at least two external sources from authoritative institutions (USDA, EPA, NASA, university extension programs, peer-reviewed research).
  • Product mentions are educational, not promotional. We do not earn affiliate commissions on any links.
  • All claims about plant care, food safety, or technical methods are supported by external evidence or clearly labeled as personal observation.
  • Articles include a publication date and a last-updated date. We revise older articles as new research becomes available.
  • AI tools are used to assist with research and drafting, but every article is reviewed and edited by a human before publication.
  • Disclaimers are added wherever readers might act on information that involves health, food safety, or electrical work.

How We’re Funded

Nexamundo is funded through display advertising served by Google AdSense and similar networks. We do not run sponsored content, do not earn affiliate commissions, and do not accept payment in exchange for product mentions or favorable coverage. Advertisements on the Site are clearly labeled and are independent of editorial content.

Target Audience

Nexamundo is written for apartment residents in the United States who want to grow plants — herbs, leafy greens, vegetables, flowers, or ornamentals — in vertical, low-maintenance, self-watering setups. Our readers range from complete beginners building their first DIY garden to experienced indoor growers looking for new techniques and plant recommendations.
